Biography
SPACE IN YOUR FACE, the name of the second GALACTIC COWBOYS album, was liked so much by the group members that they decided to call their group by the same name in 1995. Soon after their first demo recording, SPACE IN YOUR FACE began playing concerts and participating in events such as the Belfort International University Music Festival (May 1997).
After their first concerts they recorded a 4-title CD in order to promote the group. In 1999 the group participated in the EUROCKEENES semi-finals in BELFORT. Around the same time they were favorably welcomed onto the French metal scene by the French national press in HARD FORCE and GUITARE ET CLAVIER (“Guitar and Keyboard”).
SPACE IN YOUR FACE signed with the Swiss record label UGLY RECORDS (Bad Littel Duck, Fish for Lunch...) in 2001 and recorded their first album entitled “The True Essence of Life”. It was distributed in several European countries as well as in The United States and Canada. The group is still faithful today to the same label that discovered it and made it a name.
Following the success of their first album, SPACE IN YOUR FACE was propelled onto several stages in 2001 and 2002 thanks to the organization of a tour in Spain, and to an excellent appearance at the CHRISTMAS ROCK NIGHT, a German metal festival.
At the beginning of 2003, the line-up of SPACE IN YOUR FACE changed with the addition of a new singer and a second guitarist. From this point on the group started to use in its music samples, synthesizers, and other electronic beats, which have brought a new flair to their compositions.
The new line-up was now ready to get back out on the stage. Their style had evolved into a mix of heavy and incisive riffs, electro metal influences, and French lyrics. After several concerts crowned with success, SPACE IN YOUR FACE went back to the recording studio and was ready to produce a new album in September 2005, heavily awaited for by their fans. Their objective was to record their second album, “Emosphère”. It was recorded by sound engineer Daniel LAURENT at the Bagdad Studio ( Lausanne, Switzerland) and mastered by Glenn MÜLLER (Panthera, Gothard, Aerosmith, Tina Turner,...) at the mythical Greenwood Studio in Basel, Switzerland. The cutting guitars and emotional melody has taken the music of SPACE IN YOUR FACE to a new dimension. Their music is also influenced by artists as various and diverse as POD, Rammstein, Mass Hystéria, and Watcha.
With more than a hundred successful concerts, SPACE IN YOUR FACE has made itself the reputation of a band who really delivers its on-stage performances. They’ve also successfully opened for several American groups while on tour in Europe, such as Disciple, Tourniquet, and Bride.
